I’m Caitlyn Baird, and I’m all about creating. From sketching to stitching, for me there’s nothing like the feeling of bringing a design to life and turning it into a costume
My Education
My sewing journey started at home in Climping, UK, helping my mum with her sewing classes. This hands-on experience sparked a lifelong love for textiles and design, and I studied textiles for four years at Bishop Luffa School, where I learned how to turn fabric into wearable art!
I then took my creativity further with a two-year fashion program at the University of Portsmouth, during which I explored how fabric and form come together to complement the human body. This led me to a six-month exchange at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore, where I was exposed to new cultures, techniques, and global design perspectives.
It was in Singapore that my passion for travel and discovery really grew, and this journey eventually brought me to Capilano University in Vancouver, where I found my true passion: Costume Design. I’ve been combining everything I’ve learned to create characters through clothing ever since.
